Here is the pharmacological breakdown of how the three components work together: 1.Glimepiride (3 mg): A sulfonylurea that acts as an insulin secretagogue. It lowers blood glucose by directly stimulating the beta cells in the pancreas to release more insulin. 2.Metformin SR (500 mg): A biguanide that primarily targets insulin resistance. It reduces hepatic (liver) glucose production and increases peripheral glucose uptake. The SR (Sustained Release) formulation ensures the drug is released gradually into the system, which maintains steady blood levels and significantly reduces gastrointestinal side effects like nausea or diarrhea. 3.Voglibose (0.3 mg): An alpha-glucosidase inhibitor.
